Medium shred coconut is a form of dried coconut that’s cut into small, uniform pieces. It falls between finely shredded coconut and larger, flakier coconut pieces, giving it a texture that’s perfect for both cooking and baking. This type of coconut is often used in recipes where you want a bit of texture without the pieces being too large or too small.

Medium shred coconut is commonly used in:

• Baking: It works well in cookies, cakes, muffins, or bars like coconut macaroons, providing a chewy texture and a subtle coconut flavor.
• Coconut-based dishes: It’s great for adding to granola, oatmeal, smoothies, or rice dishes for a tropical twist.
• Toppings: You can sprinkle it on top of desserts, yogurt, or smoothie bowls for added crunch and flavor.
• Savory dishes: It can also be used in some savory dishes like curries or salads, especially in cuisines like Thai or Indian cooking, where coconut is a staple ingredient.
