Saw palmetto powder is made from the berries of the saw palmetto plant (Serenoa repens), which is native to the southeastern United States. This plant has been used for centuries, especially in traditional medicine, for its potential benefits related to prostate health, hormone balance, and supporting the urinary system. The powder form makes it easy to add to teas, capsules, smoothies, or other herbal supplements.

Saw palmetto is most commonly known for its possible benefits for men's health, particularly for supporting prostate health and alleviating symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition that causes the prostate gland to enlarge. Some studies suggest that saw palmetto may help regulate hormone levels, including testosterone, and reduce inflammation.

Aside from its potential benefits for prostate health, saw palmetto is sometimes used in hair care products as it’s believed to support healthy hair growth, particularly in those with thinning hair.
